Planet Gong-Dingwall's, London (June 28, 2007) (FLAC)

Planet Gong
2007.06.28 Dingwall's, Camden Town, London, UK

sbd + aud ?? 'demuxed' from unreleased "Gongwalls" DVD

Sampled @ 48kHz
SHOULD BE RE-SAMPLED TO 44kHz FOR CD
but play it in this quality if you can (itunes will do it for instance)

1. Floating Anarchy Radio
2. Its The Time Of Your Life
3. Stoned Innocent Frankenstein
4. New Age Transformation Try
5. Poet For Sale
6. The Pot Head Pixies
7. Astral Alien
8. Much Too Old
9. Intros / Change The World (faded cut at end, loses maybe 5 secs. Why??)
10.Teeth
11.Ali Baba (Missing from this set of files, boo hoo)
12.(Encore) Opium For The People

I have also included, from another source, again a video camera
99.Ali Baba Black Sheep, Have You Any Bullshit

The sound here is as captured, I think. It certainly could do with cleaning up in places where it gets peaky.
This is only shared as the official release seems to have ground to a terminal halt 3 years ago now, due to wrangling between band, film-maker & record/film label.
Better to rip it off if you can!

I got rid of some interview material that had been interspersed in the songs by Al Stokes, the film-maker. I felt it added nothing, and in fact just got in the way of the performances. Nothing of any real interest got said.
The film-makers managed to lose/scramble completely the "Ali Baba" file that they had. That's just damn careless in my book.
There is a possibility that an earlier saved copy will emerge one day

Daevid Allen - Guitar, Vocals
Keith The Bass - Bass, some vocals
Steffy Sharpstrings - Guitar, some vocals
Gwyo Zepix - Keyboards & Twiddles, some vocals
Steve Cassidy - Drums

* Kevin Ayers tells a funny story about Ollie Halsall.
** "Daevid Allen on guitar".
*** "Thank you, end of 1st set. Thank you, Mr. Daevid Allen".
$ First verse and chorus sung in french as "Puis Je?".
& Verses only, no "I Am My Own Lover" chorus.
# First verse only.
? "GongSong" starts from bridge then one verse and chorus.
/ Sung live on pre-recorded keyboard backing. [cut at 0:01 on applause. Start slightly cut].
° Fades in on 2nd verse. Daevid drinks a "tisane Quebecoise". Sung as "Dope Uncle Sam". [Cut].
§ Daevid's song from "Dreamin' A Dream", not Gilli Smyth's omonimous poem.

Source: Traded CDR (EAC log included) > wav > retracked and normalized > flac.

Date and venue confirmed by flyer (funnily signed by Daevid, used for cover) and Calyx website.

I got this show from a guy who used to help Daevid and Kramer for their east cost 90's shows.
All of the songs fade in and out on applause, except for Daevid's Garçon-Garden-Gongsong-Mother sequence which was one long piece I retracked.
This is all I have from this show; I suspect the running order may be messed up but, not having many shows by Daevid from this tour to compare it with, I decided to leave the track order as it is. Daevid introduces his song in french with some funny expressions.

Brainville 3-April 19,2009

Brainville 3
Recorded at Auditorium di via Roma, Gorizia (Italy)
April 19,2009

FM radio broadcast by "Il Cartellone - Radio 3 Suite Jazz", Radio 3 RAI [third channel of Italian national radio], on thursday 25 June 2009

five unnamed tracks

It was broadcast by a jazz programme, but it includes everything from psychedelia, progressive rock, avantgarde music, improvisation... as you would expect from founding members of Soft Machine, Gong, Henry Cow, Art Bears... and apparently the name of the group is coming off a Sun Ra tune. It is made of two suites (that I divided in smaller fragments) where new and old themes from Allen and Softs constantly merge in some sort of disturbed space rock with glissando guitar.

Daevid Allen, guitar, vocals, effects;
Hugh Hopper, bass, loops;
Chris Cutler, drums.
