David Bowie - Detroit 1 March 1973 (FLAC)

David Bowie
Detroit Masonic Auditorium
1st March 1973 STEREO.

from low gen tape - DIFFERENT TAPE TO EARLIER TORRENT I DID OF THIS.

Nakamichi Tapedeck>CD Wave>TLH

01 Intro
02 Hang onto Yourself
03 Ziggy Stardust
04 Changes
05 Moonage Daydream
06 Panic in Detroit
07 Five Years
08 Watch That Man
09 Aladdin Sane
10 Width of a Circle
11 Space Oddity
12 Time (cut off)
13 Suffragette City
14 The Jean Genie
15 Rock n Roll Suicide

This is another low gen tape of this show I have been sent : the earlier version sounded very good to me but on comparing to this one the right channel had a little distortion. The guitar sounds slightly clearer on the earlier torrent but that is after some minor processing. I am upping this as a raw transfer at this point : I may offer a 'processed' one at some point but the quality of the recording means I would rather wait until a professional mixer I know might have a go at it (depending on his workload) or whether anyone who downloads this who really knows their stuff works on it. I can do minor tweaks (some will disagree of course), but I often prefer the 'widening' process I do on mono-ish recordings (which of course some like, some don't).

This is a true stereo tape and is very good as it, just a little hissy really.

Enjoy.

David Bowie 1972-10-01 Boston Music Hall Memories Joe Maloney Master Recording (FLAC)

David Bowie & The Spiders From Mars 1972/10/01 - Boston Music Hall(FLAC)

DAVID BOWIE AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS
BOSTON MUSIC HALL

6: Lady Stardust
7: Queen Bitch
8: Five Years

2: John, I'm only dancing
3: Starman
4: Moonage dream
5: Waiting for the man
6: White light, White heat
7: Suffragette City
8: Around and Around

This was recently transfered and is unaltered and un-EQ'd. The way you have it, is the way
the master cassettes are.

Special thanks to Joe Maloney for making this recording available.

This is for JJ and anyone else that missed out on this gem first time around. I've put this up now as I want to make sure I can finish upping this as I'm immenently waiting to go into hospital for a disc removing from my back.

JJ made a request for this show in the Newtorrent and reseed section of the forum but with joy. It was Originally shared by Homerpax, but due to a computer crash I lost the files, but fortunately had burned a hard cd copy. Consequently I've altered nothing apart from adding
this info file and some artwork. The rest is what I downloaded from Homer in february 2008. Wow I can't believe it's over three years ago.

Guys this is the daddy of all Ziggy recordings against which all others are based. It's not perfect some say it could do with some EQ, but it's by far the best Ziggy Stardust audience recording that has ever been done. So I'll leave it to you to rate the sound, but trust me this is a gem.

In my opinion this with some professional tinkering and remastering could be released officially.

Remember Bowie is a currently recording artist so support him by buying his cd's and merchandise. As stated above our thanks must go to Joe Maloney for taping this show (and others).

This is to be played at MAXIMUM Volume!!

Enjoy

Paul

Wow! This is a previously unreleased Japanese concert, the third one of the rather short Aladdin Sane tour (in Japan). The sound quality is very good for being an audience tape from 1973, and it is probably complete? Buy it when you find it!

David Bowie - Madison Square Garden (July 20, 1974) (FLAC)

David Bowie
Madison Square Garden
New York City
NY U.S.A.
July 20, 1974

Source: XLII90 --> Audacity --> Wav --> FLAC Front End Level 8

Description: Decent sounding audience tape from the 1974 tour, I think one of the better ones from '74 not including the Maloney recordings, et al. Bowie says "Good evening New York" as an identifier during the intro to All The Young Dudes. This show is missing both Jean Genie and Rock N'Roll Suicide, and has a few small cuts, most are between songs but are barely noticeable. Watch That Man has a cut toward the end of the song. All in all a good show and a good performance.

From Bassman's David Bowie Page:

Another great Australian release! I had never heard of a tape of this Cleveland show before, so it was a very nice and big surprise when this CD was released. It is the complete show, and it is easy to see that it is a late US '72 show, becuase the omission of MY DEATH in favour of the "new" song DRIVE-IN SATURDAY. Before DRIVE-IN SATURDAY Bowie asks the people with tape recorders to leave, because now they are going to play a new unreleased song! The strange title comes from ANDY WARHOL where he sings "va va va voom" before the guitar solo part. The sound quality is rather good, and the cover is smashing. A short story about the US Tour of 1972 is told on the cover. A true must!

The Arnold Corn Sessions

Studio outtakes, demos and official versions
Label: SWITCH ON! DEVIL KWSK RECORDS 99-04
Released: 1999

Total Running Time:59m37s

Notes:

A very nice disc with songs recorded during the short Arnold Corns era in 1971. The things that are "new" on this CD are three new versions of LOOKING FOR A FRIEND, one of MOONAGE DAYDREAM and one of HANG ON TO YOURSELF (with Gene Vincent!). The rest of the songs have been released on other discs. The sound quality is excellent, except for the Gene Vincent track. That track is only good! Some funny liner notes, and some really good information about the Arnold Corns project! A true must!
