thank you so much for posting it. I had on a very old tape a song that I had recorded from a local radio station, I never knew its real name neither the band's... "There goes Johnny"! Thank you man.
Many thanks for this. Great recording. I saw Kevin a few years back in Brighton, probably the same tour and he was brilliant. It's a real shame he doesn't enjoy playing live.

I think that Kevin is one of the best singer, He has recorded a series of albums as a solo artist and over the years has worked with Brian Eno, Syd Barrett, John Cale!! I really like his music I have two of his albums!viagra
Hi...thanks for the happy memory. I was at this concert in the downstairs bar at the Tyne Theatre. It was a suitably intimate occasion. Kevin was backed by a Belgian band (Starvin' Marvin!) as I recall. I chatted to the guitarist and had a brief word with the laconic Mr. Ayers afterwards in the foyer. I don't know if anyone can remember, but I also saw him in a very sparse, delayed concert in Geno's nightclub, possibly late 1980's early 1990's,(no longer around)when half his band were detained at Newcastle Airport. Ollie Halsall (God rest his soul)plus another musician was with him, who I can't remember now.
I too was at this concert and delighted to see my hero at last ..and he did not disappoint! Is there any link which workds

I'm just browsing after hearing about Kevin Ayers' death and came across your coments. I was also at the concert in Geno's nightclub, but had forgotten the name of the place and also can't remember whether it was late 1980's or early 1990's. I do rmeember, however, that the concert was delayed because the Argentinian bass player had tropuble getting through customs! I also remember getting very drunk and posing as a journalist in order to interview Kevin Ayers while we waited for the bass player. Not my finest hour! The whole event was a bit sad because of poor attendance and the delay, etc. I wish I'd known about the 20003 gig. Anyway, all the best and sorry to hear this news. Richard
